Chocolate denial

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

I made it through both long drives without really even a twinge of a headache, which is pretty amazing.  I aimed to drink plenty of water and go easy on the junk food, and by and large I feel like I did well.

I’ve had PMS the past couple of cycles.  Normally, I don’t really have any classic PMS symptoms, but lately I have.  Don’t know what to make of that.   Took a frova tonight, which I would have done preventatively but as it turns out am taking acutely as well.  Hope it does the trick.

I fear chocolate is no good for me in any sort of moderate to large amount, and I’m in denial about it.   More on that to come, when I can properly think about it.

Good Weekend

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

I had a great weekend.  I felt good through just about all of it and was able to enjoy all of the things we had planned.  I spent much of today relaxing with friends on their patio, just chatting and snacking and watching our kids play.  It was a good way to spend a warm, sunny Sunday.  Tomorrow I head off on a long drive and will be sure to stop and stretch, drink plenty of water and have a snack along the way.

Not much to say really.  Just feeling content after a happy weekend.

Achy neck, massage helped

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

For going on a week now my neck has been bothering me, to the point that it is triggering headaches in the evenings.  I went for a massage this evening and am feeling better - here’s hoping it did the trick and broke this awful cycle of pain.

I tried to schedule an appointment with the physical therapist who works wonders, but she didn’t have any openings until August 1 .  Good for her, glad she is busy, but not so good for me.

Vacation next month - that will be good!  One week of city-living, sight-seeing, etc., and one week of reading, hiking and napping in the middle of practically nowhere.  It’s going to be great.

Thoughts on posture

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

How much do you think your posture affects how you feel?  I know that when I spend too much time in front of my laptop, bent over somewhat, I feel it in my neck.  And tension there can easily trigger a migraine.  So good posture is something I need to be aware of.  I’m actually hoping that the ballet classes I take will also help me with this day in and day out as I go about the business of living.
