Blaze in the Desert
This morning I was on the phone with a Battalion Chief going over some items when he got word that he had to go out to the fire near Cabazon. They had already lost three firefighters. By this afternoon, they lost a fourth. Now they’re saying that it may have been started by an arsonist.

What’s also sad is that while I was on the phone with the chief, his cell phone kept ringing. He said a lot of the firefighters’ wives were calling him asking about their husbands, and he was trying give them a status on what was going on. Then he got the call to go out there.
