Blog FAQs
Here are some frequently asked questions regarding the new blogs at DivaTribe. Feel free to contact DivaTribe if you still need any assistance.
How do I write a new entry?
When you log in, you will be on the “Dashboard” page. There is a link that says “Write a Post” - use this link. Alternatively, you can click on “Write” in the menu bar and it will take you to the post window. Be sure to change the post status to “Published” and to hit “Publish” to make your post viewable.
How do I add a link to the side of my blog?
Log in to your blog, click on the “Blogroll” link in the menu bar, click on the “Add link” option and then add a link from there.
I used to have a journal here. Can I still use it?
No. You will need to sign up for a new account, even if you have been keeping a journal with DivaTribe. (The old journals have been archived.)
How do I link to my old journal at DivaTribe?
Find your unique journal URL. It will look like this: http://www.divatribe.com/journals/journals.php?id=XXX
where XXX is a number. Then use the “Blogroll” menu link when you’re logged in to add a link to your archived journal.
Can I still log in to see my private entries in my old journal?
Yes. Towards the bottom of the old journals homepage is place to log in. Once logged in, you will have access to all of your entries, including any private entries.
How do I add categories?
While you’re writing a new post, you can add categories by using the “Add” feature located in the “Categories” box in the righthand column of the page. Or, you can go “Manage” >> “Categories” and click on “add new”.
How do I get my entries to show up on the front page?
The first entry “Hello World!” is not hown on the front page. Once you write your own entry, your blog will get picked up for the list of all entries, and your latest entry will be previewed on the front page of the blogs.
How do I subscribe to a blog?
In the righthand column of any blog, look for a link that says “Subscribe to this Blog”. Or, find the link at the bottom of the page that says “Entries (RSS)”. This is the link to use in feed readers such as Bloglines. The link will look like this: http://blogs.divatribe.com/xxxxx/feed/, where the blog author’s name will appear where the x’s are.
Can I post anything I want?
No. Spam and advertisements will be summarily deleted. They do not further the purpose of creating a supportive community of women bloggers.
